Antony’s difficult start to his third season at Old Trafford has prompted the club to consider loan bids in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider. The 24-year-old is apparently no longer in Erik ten Hag’s plans in Manchester, and the club’s management is eager to remove his £200,000-per-week salary from their books. The development comes after reports linked Antony with a return to Ajax, where he had a good time before joining United in 2022. However, according to the Dutch publication De Telegraaf, the Amsterdam-based club have qualms about making a bid for the Brazilian, who had a rough time at Old Trafford and has rapidly slipped down the pecking order.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are willing to include a buyout clause in any temporary agreement for Antony, but a ‘significant percentage’ of his wages would need to be covered. When asked about Antony’s predicament at United last month, Ten Hag emphasised that the 24-year-old had to do more to earn more playing time. Antony, one of the Dutchman’s first signings at Old Trafford, cost an eye-watering £86 million two years ago, but was passed over this season in favour of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo. The 24-year-old has made only two Premier League appearances this season, both coming off the bench. Antony scored a goal in Manchester United’s 7-0 victory over League
