Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown was briefly held by police outside a celebrity boxing event in Miami early Saturday morning, according to the Associated Press. Brown’s brief detention occurred when gunshots were fired outside the gathering. Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department stated that several persons were questioned following the event, but no arrests were made.
Nobody was hurt as a result of the shooting. Brown’s brief detention came after video footage from outside the nightclub showed the former wide receiver fighting with numerous people. Brown stated on social media that he was detained and questioned, but returned home and was not arrested.
Brown has not played in the NFL since 2021, when he walked off the field in the middle of a game while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was discharged a few days later and retired for the offseason.
