Chelsea are preparing to invest in the future of their football club by attracting potential Watford youngster Mathis Eboue to Stamford Bridge, despite the teenager’s links with London rivals Arsenal. According to The Secret Scout, the Hornets’ under-16 sensation is set to ‘finally join’ Chelsea to further his career. Football aficionados may recognize the player’s surname, as he is also the son of Arsenal icon Emmanuel Eboue.

The teenager is a versatile forward capable of playing in any of the front three positions. His father was a former Arsenal defender who made 214 appearances between 2004 and 2011. He played for Arsenal in the 2006 Champions League final.

His football skills appear to have been passed down through the family. Reporter Felix Johnston describes the adolescent as ‘powerful’ and a goal threat. He said: “Eboue appears to be an interesting player. This season, he has been tearing it up for Watford and England, having already played for their 21s and trained with the first team at the age of 15. He is two-footed, very coordinated, a fantastic dribbler, powerful, has tremendous ball hitting ability, and an eye for goal.

His footballing skills appear to have been passed down the family. Reporter Felix Johnston has labelled the teenager as ‘powerful’ and a goal threat. He said: “Eboue looks an exciting player. Been ripping it up for Watford and England this season, already playing for their 21s and training with the 1st team at 15. 2-footed, very coordinated, excellent dribbler, powerful, great ball striking and eye for goal.”

According to the Watford Observer, the adolescent is already involved in England’s youth setup and scored the winning goal for the Three Lions’ under-16 side against Spain last month to win the tournament title. Eboue also scored against France in those games, demonstrating his offensive ability. The attacker began his career in Arsenal’s academy before making the short journey to Watford. His father has previously remarked about his son’s early career, stating, “He had two options: Chelsea or Arsenal.” I didn’t tell him anything; I simply said, ‘Mathis, it’s up to you. It doesn’t matter where; I just want you to be happy. “And he told me: ‘Daddy, I want to play for Arsenal. I like Arsenal and you used to play here too, the people they love you, so I want to play here’.”
