According to authorities, the driver of a Tesla Cybertruck that detonated outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday was identified using images from charging stations, a passport, a driver’s license, and a tattoo on his arm.

The person of interest has been identified by police as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, an active-duty United States Army special operations soldier from Colorado Springs, Colorado. During a press conference on Thursday, Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated that while there is substantial evidence to suggest Livelsberger was in the truck when it exploded, the body is burnt beyond recognition, and he still does not have DNA or medical records to confirm Livelsberger’s identity. However, the investigation that has been performed since the truck exploded in front of the Trump hotel at around 8:40 a.m., killing Livelsberger and injuring seven others, has discovered several pieces of evidence.
