Luka Doncic has revealed the important player in the Los Angeles Lakers’ stunning 113-109 victory over the New York Knicks on Thursday. The matchup between the two NBA heavyweights was electrifying, culminating in an overtime classic. The Lakers gained the lead after regulation, thanks in part to an injury to standout point guard Jalen Brunson.
Nonetheless, Los Angeles led Doncic and LeBron James to another crucial victory, improving to 40-21 overall and presently second in the Western Conference. The Lakers’ two superstars were not the only ones who played crucial roles down the stretch.
In a postgame interview with Spectrum SportsNet, Luka praised unheralded guard Gabe Vincent for his 12 points, including three crucial three-pointers in the fourth quarter. LeBron James also emphasized the importance of Vincent and the bench in the franchise’s comeback.
“There’s no such thing as nonkey players on this team. Everybody is key. Everybody who steps on the floor has a role. And they go in and master that, and I thought our bench gave us a great lift once again. And to single him out, Gabe was spectacular, his play both on the defensive end and obviously his shooting, which we needed especially when we were not making any outside shots.”
