Bridget Brink, the US Ambassador to Ukraine, is stepping down due to intensifying political conflicts with President Donald Trump’s administration. According to Ukrinform, the Financial Times published this based on informed sources. Brink is a career diplomat who was appointed as the United States Ambassador to Slovakia by President Trump during his first term

According to sources acquainted with Brink’s decision to quit, she came under increasing pressure from senior officials in the Trump administration who questioned her willingness to endorse their Ukraine strategy. The State Department has already responded to Brink’s departure. “Ambassador Brink is stepping down.” “She’s been the ambassador there for three years, which is a long time in a war zone,” a State Department spokesperson stated.

According to the reports, her departure coincided with a worsening in working ties with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, albeit this was not the cause for her choice. The White House and State Department declined to comment on the Trump administration’s political disputes with Brink. The Financial Times was unable to contact Brink for comment.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the US State Department has officially acknowledged that Ambassador Bridget Brink has completed her diplomatic duty in Kyiv and will return to the US.
