An American activist, age 26, passed away from her wounds when an Israeli military bullet severely wounded her head in Beita, a town in the occupied West Bank situated south of Nablus. The American activist, identified as Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, was reportedly shot in the head on Friday while taking part in the weekly demonstration against settlement development, according to the Palestinian News Agency WAFA. The activist was taken to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus and admitted to the acute care unit, according to medical sources. She was severely injured, and despite the efforts of medical teams to save her, she passed away.
According to accounts, the protest was severely put down by Israeli police, who fired tear gas, stun grenades, and live bullets at the protestors. This caused the clash to break out.
