Last week, Netanyahu removed defence minister Yoav Gallant, alleging a lack of trust, and replaced him with Israel Katz, who had previously served as foreign minister.

The Times of Israel stated that Netanyahu and Gallant had clashed several times during their time in ministry.

Following the strike, numerous media sites alleged that it was a very sophisticated Israeli intelligence operation that had been planned for years, with Hezbollah duped into purchasing the hacked devices. Following the explosions, Israel launched a series of airstrikes that destroyed much of Hezbollah’s command structure, including Nasrallah, and is conducting a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon to eliminate the terror group’s immediate threats to Israel’s northern border communities.
