The NFL is in mourning as a result of the death of a former Super Bowl champion playmaker, Matt Stevens, who has passed away at 51 years old. Stevens played in the NFL from 1996-2003, starting as a third-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills and then continuing a career that featured a six-interception season with Washington in 1999 and a Super Bowl victory in 2001 with the New England Patriots. Sadly, Stevens was involved in a motorcycle accident in 2007 that resulted in him being paralyzed from the waist down. Stevens was a standout in college as a two-time Appalachian State All-American and was inducted into the App State Athletics Hall of Fame.
