According to a financial statement obtained by Business Insider prior to its public release, Patel’s earnings were derived from a combination of consulting work, paid speeches, media appearances, and the sale of numerous books. His entire net worth exceeds $5.9 million, according to a document filed with the Senate Judiciary Committee. All of Trump’s candidates must file public final disclosure forms as they are considered by the Senate

The majority of Patel’s income, more than $2.1 million, came from consulting services. Trump Media and Technology Corp, the firm behind Truth Social, was one of his clients. According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Patel’s yearly remuneration was $120,000, and his contract terminated in March 2024.

Pam Bondi, Trump’s choice for attorney general, has also been financially hooked up with Truth Social, holding more than $3.9 million in stock in the company as of December. Patel also listed Save America, Trump’s leadership PAC, as a client, along with the Embassy of Qatar and several other organizations. Last year, he received $306,000 from a series of paid lectures and media appearances, including $99,000 as an Epoch Times contributor and $20,000 for a May 2024 interview on “Our Watch with Tim Thompson.”

Writing books proved to be profitable for Patel. He received royalties ranging from $100,000 to $1 million for his 2023 book, “Government Gangsters,” and between $45,000 and $150,000 for his children’s book series, “The Plot Against the King”. He also owns Elite Depot, a “fashion management company” situated in the Cayman Islands valued $1 million to $5 million. A representative for Patel did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the organization’s objective.

Patel’s other holdings include up to $100,000 in Bitcoin, $250,000 in NVIDIA stock, and $100,000 in Palantir shares. In 2024, he received $8,000 in director fees from VK Integrated Systems, a weapons manufacturer. Patel is one of Trump’s most contentious choices, due to allegations regarding his behavior during Trump’s first term, his support of conspiracy theories, and his aggressive speech. This week, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer named Patel as a nominee that Democrats believed they could reject. His first confirmation hearing was on Thursday.
