Houston Mayor John Whitmire stated that four individuals, including a kid, were murdered when a helicopter carrying them crashed into a radio tower on Sunday night in Houston, the largest city in the US state of Texas. At a late-night press conference, Whitmire stated that the crash resulted in a large explosion and the structure’s collapse. “The residents are secure and safe, but we have a terrible accident scene,” Whitmire told the crowd. According to Houston Police Chief Noe Diaz, the victims died on board a privately owned Robinson R44 helicopter. “It’s a horrible event tonight. It’s a horrible loss of life,” Diaz stated. According to the mayor, the chopper departed Ellington Airport with an unknown destination.
The victims’ identities were not immediately revealed since an investigation into the tragedy is ongoing.
