Dalot’s blunder was punished by an immediate Arsenal level when Gabriel hammered in, but the Gunners then squandered a penalty opportunity when Martin Odegaard saw his shot saved by keeper Altay Bayindir. There was a chaotic melee between the players which resulted in several yellow card

From there, Arsenal squandered multiple chances to win in normal time, with Bayindir making crucial saves and Havertz spurning a great opportunity from close range. Matthijs de Ligt then performed a fantastic clearance in the opening half of extra time. Joshua Zirkzee had a chance after David Raya pushed his deflected shot into the post, but Bayindir stopped another penalty, this time from Havertz, as the holders proceeded to the fourth round draw.
