The Chinese firm that obtained a court order to seize three Nigerian presidential jets has freed one of them, according to a company representative. “Zhongshan has consistently sought to act reasonably and fairly in the course of a legal dispute with Nigeria that it did not initiate,” the official told this newspaper Friday afternoon. “It (Zhongshan) has now been informed that an Airbus A330, which is currently detained in France as a result of a French court order obtained by Zhongshan, is required for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to travel to a scheduled meeting with President Macron of France early next week.”

Zhongshan promptly lifted the aircraft’s seizure as a show of goodwill. This allows it to be used during the President’s tour.
