Crews were still examining the situation, but no catastrophic damage had been discovered, according to Juan Saca, president of Luma Energy, a private business that controls Puerto Rico’s power transmission and distribution system.

When asked when power would be restored, Luma’s operations director, Alejandro Gonzalez, declined to comment. “It would be irresponsible to provide an exact date,” he stated in a press conference late on Wednesday.
