Tensions between Iran and Israel remain heightened as Tehran’s military heads on Thursday once again pledged a crushing response to Jerusalem’s strikes last month, and the U.N.’s atomic watchdog is scrambling to prevent a nuclear escalation.
Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, travelled to Iran this week to undertake high-level meetings with Iranian officials in an effort to hold Tehran responsible for previous nuclear safety agreements and gain clarity on Iran’s nuclear program. Even as Tehran continues to advance its nuclear program despite international efforts to halt it, Grossi delivered a cautionary message to Israel, emphasizing that Iran’s “nuclear installations should not be attacked.” IAEA Iran
