Israel Defence Forces conducted airstrikes in Gaza and Lebanon on Saturday morning, killing scores of Hamas and Hezbollah members. While Israel’s conflicts with Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Lebanon continue, Qatari officials will no longer arbitrate a cease-fire agreement on Hamas’ behalf, according to NBC News. The decision was also confirmed by unnamed US officials speaking to CNN and Fox News.
IDF airstrikes across much of Gaza began before dawn Saturday, killing at least 40 people, according to Al Jazeera. Local officials and first responders stated that 40 Gazans were killed in the airstrikes, including 24 in northern Gaza and others around Khan Younis, Beit Lahiya, Gaza City, and Deir el-Balah.
The Palestinian Red Crescent acknowledged 14 deaths, including women and children, while IDF sources said dozens of Hamas members were killed in northern Gaza, according to VOA News.
