NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated Monday that North Korean forces were transferred to Russia.
Mr. Rutte stated that North Korea has supplied Russia with millions of rounds of ammunition and ballistic missiles, so fueling a massive confrontation in the heart of Europe and undermining global peace and security. “In exchange, [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is providing North Korea with military technology and other support to circumvent international sanctions,” said Mr. Rutte.
More than 600,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded on the battlefield since the invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. The deployment of North Korean forces to Russia, according to the NATO head, reflects Mr. Putin’s “growing desperation” throughout the course of the battle.
