Aliko Dangote, founder and president/CEO of the Dangote Group, claims his refinery has more than 500 million litres of petrol on hand, which is more than enough to supply Nigeria if merchants buy from it. Mr Dangote, speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, questioned why the state-owned Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and private merchants continued to buy petrol when his refinery could generate enough. “So, I am expecting that the NNPC Ltd and the marketers should stop importing; they should come and collect what they need,” stated Mr. Dangote on Tuesday.
