Texas Republican Rep. Pat Fallon arrived at a House Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump hearing on Thursday prepared to accuse the Secret Service Director of interfering with the protection of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in exchange for a photo opportunity that would advance his career. The following dispute between Fallon and Acting Director Ronald Rowe Jr. provided an unexpectedly heated cap to the panel’s final day of public activity, which has centred on overhauling the Secret Service and its protection measures.

Fallon carried a poster board featuring a screen shot from C-SPAN footage of this year’s ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist assault in New York City. It was centred on Biden and Harris, with Rowe’s face surrounded just behind them among a swarm of other dignitaries in attendance.

Fallon then asked Rowe which Secret Service person should be closest to the politicians that require security. Rowe stated that the nearest person is the special agent in charge of the detail, abbreviated as the SAC. Then Fallon inquired whether Rowe was the special agent in charge of the detail that day. Rowe then asked staffers to leave Fallon’s poster board up. “Actually, congressman, what you’re not seeing is the detail’s SAC, which is off and out of view. And it is the day that we remember the more than 3,000 people who perished on 9/11,” Rowe explained. “I did respond to Ground Zero. I was there, walking through the ashes of the World Trade Centre.

Rowe stated. “I did respond to Ground Zero. I was there, walking through the ashes of the World Trade Centre. “I was at Fresh Kills.” Following that reference to the landfill that housed Ground Zero debris, a shouting match ensued, with both guys speaking simultaneously.

Fallon interjected, saying, “I’m asking you that, if you were the special agent in charge. “You weren’t.” Rowe responded: “I was there to show respect for a Secret Service member that died on 9/11.” “Oh, that’s a bunch of horse hockey,” Fallon replied. “Do not invoke 9/11 for political purposes,” Rowe told the crowd. “I’m not,” Fallon replied. “Do not try to bully me. I am an elected member of Congress, and I am asking you a serious question, yet you are playing politics.

“And I am a public servant who has served this nation and spent time on our country’s darkest day,” Rowe told the crowd. “Do not politicize it.” “I’m asking you serious questions for the American people,” the comedian continued. “And they’re not trick questions; they’re straightforward. “Were you the special agent in charge that day?” “No, I wasn’t,” Rowe replied. “Sir, I was there representing the United States Secret Service. It had little effect on protective operations. That’s when Fallon made his whole accusation: Rowe wanted face time in order to be officially designated director afteM

It had little effect on protective operations. That’s when Fallon made his whole accusation: Rowe wanted face time in order to be officially designated director after President-elect Donald Trump entered office. “Do you know why you were there?” Because you wanted to be seen because you’re auditioning for this job that you won’t get.

“I was there to pay respects to a fallen member of this agency. You’re out of line, Congressman. “You’re out of line,” Rowe remarked. “You jeopardized President Biden’s and Vice President Harris’ lives by removing those agents from their positions. Did you have a radio with you? Did you carry a weapon?” Fallon stated. “I did, sir, and you are out of line,” Rowe answered. When asked to reply to the charges, a Secret Service spokeswoman stated that Rowe was “invited to the September 11 Memorial Ceremony in New York this year to honour the victims of that tragic day, including the Secret Service members who were killed.” All detail personnel were there and had complete access to their prouters

After the hearing, Fallon told reporters that whistleblowers had brought the photo to his attention. “I didn’t know about that on the 11th, and they’re the ones that told me that that’s a severe breach of protocol,” Fallon recalled. Fallon stated that the special agent in command was suddenly not where he was supposed to be when Rowe instructed them to move down the line. Fallon stated that the agents are “furious” and that he wants to question Rowe if he attended the operational briefing that day, had a weapon, and a radio. “These guys and gals rely on routines and protocols, and he disrupted that. “That’s why they’re so upset,” Fallon explained.

Rowe should have been there, Fallon said, “but not where he was. He didn’t need to interfere with the protection of the protection of the president, and he did.”
