Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that the US administration may consider offering a “very large bounty” to locate top Taliban leadership. In a post on his X account, Rubio suggested that intelligence indicates that the Taliban may be detaining more Americans than previously acknowledged. “Just hearing the Taliban is holding more American hostages than has been reported,” Rubio told X. He went on to say, “If this is true, we will have to immediately place a VERY BIG bounty on their top leaders, possibly even bigger than the one we had on Bin Laden.”
